LIVING SPACES GALLERY is featuring W. P. “Pete” Jennerjahn at our Spring opening May 21. and 22.. The color and freedom expressed in Pete’s current work can be seen as the essence of painting. As he is also a musician you are able to feel the music in his art. There will be a reception for the artist on Saturday 2:00 PM. Our first Sunday Soiree will also be held this weekend starting 3:00PM. Conversations about the creative process with Pete and Elizabeth Jennerjahn and Music performances are part of the afternoon.

Pete resident of Sedona and Jay, New York has a lifelong commitment to art as a painter, musician and teacher. His love of music as well as painting has kept him creating for his entire life. His current works beginning with his “Wounds” series has taken his painting to a creative crescendo. The colors, emotion and clarity that emerge from this work are exhilarating expressions of the essence an artist can reach and convey to us all.

Pete and his wife Elizabeth taught at Black Mountain College in North Carolina where they were a vital part of the Black Mountain experience. Pete studied and then taught with Josef Albers whose ideas revolutionized thinking about color and perception. Elizabeth studied Dance under Merce Cunningham, and Pete studied with John Cage. The Jennerjahn’s Light-Sound-Movement Workshop engaged participants in cross media experiments that were precursors to today’s performance art. He later taught at Cooper Union, Hunter College and Adelphi University. His work has been exhibited worldwide.
