R. Blaisdell Moore

BIOGRAPHY

R. Blaisdell Moore is a graduate of the New England School of Art in Boston. Later he moved to the West Coast where his work was shown at galleries in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Palm Springs and Laguna Beach. He is both a sculptor and a painter. His paintings have been exhibited in many one-artist shows sponsored by universities, corporations and galleries. These shows were reviewed favorably by art critics for such publications as Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. One complete one-man show of 18 paintings was purchased by Mr. Paul Gaynor of Gaynor & Ducos, Inc., an advertising company of New York City and Los Angeles.

His work has been shown locally at the Sedona Arts Center, Sculptured Arts, Connie Lee Gallery I, and Gallery Forest in Sedona, at the Glassteel Gallery in Carefree, the Raku Gallery in Jerome, the Aspen Gallery in Flagstaft, Arte-Misia Gallery Sedona and at juried shows at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff. The University of Illinois at Urbana purchased a painting for its permanent collection in July 2000. He was an award winner at the Sedona Arts Center’s juried show: "Assemblage: The Art of Recyclism” Sept. through Nov. ‘99. His work was selected to participate in the ArtLink 4th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Phoenix City Hall Atrium, Oct. 2000, Jurors: Beverly Adams: Phoenix Art Museum, Glen Lineberry: Bentley Gallery and Julie Sasse: Tucson Museum of Art. Three sculptures were juried into the "Response to 9/11” at Yavapai College in Sedona.

His work was in the traveling show “Embracing Time” at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff, Yavapai College in Sedona, the Governor’s Conference on Aging in Tucson and the University of Arizona in Tempe. He shows annually in the Sedona Sculpture Walk. He was one of the three jurors for the Sculpture Walk2002.
